Delete your Doddl account.
You can delete your Doddl account yourself, in the app, at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and the few things we keep.
How to delete your account
- Open the app and tap You (your avatar, top left).
- Tap Settings, then Delete account.
- Confirm in the app. That’s it.
Your account and data are deleted straight away. You’re signed out, and you won’t be able to sign in again. We can’t bring it back, so if you want a copy of your data first, message us before you delete and we’ll send you everything, receipts included.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we delete:
- your account, and the mobile number and email address on it
- the statements and statement photos you uploaded
- the payments we read from them, and any payments that came in from your bank
- your receipts
- your chat history with Doddl and with support
- your bank details and bank connection (we also delete you as a customer at Finexer, our bank-connection provider)
Our backups are kept for no more than 7 days, so data you delete is gone from them within 7 days.
What we keep, and for how long
If you delete your account, we delete your data. The exception is a tax return you sent through Doddl: we keep the records behind it (the payments it was built from, what was sent and HMRC’s confirmation, and the name, Unique Taxpayer Reference and National Insurance number it was sent under) until five years after the 31 January deadline for that tax year, so we can show what we sent for you if HMRC or you ever ask about that return. We keep only those records, locked away and unused, and delete them at the end of that period. Your account itself is then removed automatically.
Payment records held by Apple, Google or our card payment provider are kept for our records and accounts. If we’ve paid you a referral reward, we keep a record of that payment (the amount, the date and the last four digits of the account it went to) for the same reason.
Support conversations our team handled in Slack, and the details sent there to help you, are kept for 24 months after the conversation closes and then deleted. Finexer may keep its own record of the permission you gave, as its End User Terms and privacy policy explain.
Delete some of your data without closing your account
You don’t have to delete everything. In the app you can:
- Delete a single payment. It’s taken out of your books straight away and removed for good when you delete your account.
- Remove a statement. Its payments go from your books straight away and the original file or photos are deleted within the hour.
- Delete a receipt. Receipts are yours to remove whenever you like.
- Turn off Tips from Doddl in Settings to stop our tips and news emails. It doesn’t affect anything else about your account.
If you can’t sign in
Email support@doddl.app from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll check it’s you and delete the account for you.
